Team Awards

The 2011 Susan G. Komen Greater Evansville Affiliate Race for the Cure® is all about TEAMS! Our Race teams can change history—the history of breast cancer—by helping the Komen Greater Evansville Affiliate Race for the Cure reach record-breaking levels of Race participation and fundraising. A Race for the Cure team is a group of 10 or more participants who join together for the Race season to have fun and raise funds to empower the breast cancer movement.

Team Awards

Team awards help drive the friendly competition that makes each year better than the last! Numbers for awards are calculated for registrations and donations received by a specific date. Team members may continue to register and raise funds up until September 16, 2011. However, any registrations or funds collected after the cut-off date will not be considered for award calculation purposes.

We recognize the following Team Award Categories:

• Longest Mile Award - Given to registered team that travels the most miles to get to the Race!
• Largest Team - Given to largest overall team.
• Largest First Time Team - Given to a new, first time team that is the largest!
• High School Challenge - Awards given to the school with the largest overall percentage of participation based on enrollment and to the overall largest high school team.
• Here We Grow - Given to the team with the highest percentage of growth from the previous year.
• Most Inspired Team Award - Each team can submit an essay of one page or less (no less than 12 pt font) telling us what their inspiration is for being in the Race for the Cure. Essays need to be submitted to lauren@komenevansville.org by Wednesday, August 31. They will then be posted on the website for judging. Judging will run from September 1 through September 18.
• Most Creative Team Identifier Award - Create your own T-shirts! Whatever you can think of. Your imagination is the limit! (Please no Pink shirts as we reserve Pink for our Survivors. And be sure to ask about using the official team insignia graphic! No Race for the Cure logos, please) Team identifiers need to be turned into the Affiliate office by 5:00pm on Wednesday, September 21. Online voting by donations will be begin at 8:30am on Thursday, September 22 and continue through midnight on Friday, September 23. On Race day, voting by $$ can be done at the Team Identifier Tent and the winner will be announced after the Race.
• Team Raiser Awards - Given to the highest fundraising teams in each of the following categories:
• 10-100 Members
• 101-300 Members
• 301-500 Members
• 501+ Members
